How are the straws handled during insemination?
The handling of straws is easy and a routine procedure for an experienced veterinarian or artificial insemination technician. No special technical equipment is needed for thawing the straws. For thawing, the straws are warmed at 38° C water bath. The semen can be used directly after the procedure. Step-by-step thawing instructions are enclosed with each straw delivery. In order to obtain optimal results we recommend special Minitube insemination pipettes, which are longer (75cm) and more flexible. Therefore, the semen can be placed very close to the fallopian tube.
